Agility wins CSR award

DUBAI, April 21, 2016

Agility, a leading global logistics provider, was recognised with the corporate social responsibility (CSR) award at the annual Supply Chain & Transport Awards (SCATA) ceremony.

Now in its 10th year, SCATA event brings together the region’s logistics, air cargo and sea freight communities, honouring industry players for excellence across a number of different categories, said a statement.

Agility was named winner in the CSR category based on work it has done to measure and reduce the environmental impact of its customers and operations, it added.

Kevin Hill, regional director sales and marketing, Middle East and Africa (MEA), who attended the event and accepted the award on behalf of Agility, said: “This award is testament to the success of our entrepreneurial approach to CSR. We work closely with our stakeholders to shape our CSR priorities and programme executions, and take our leadership position in emerging market logistics very seriously.”

“We will continue to conduct our business with integrity, with close regard to ethics and compliance, giving back to our communities, and being mindful of the planet and our environmental impact on it,” he added.

Agility’s CSR initiatives have evolved over the years. The logistics provider has supported more than 1,370 community projects in 80 countries, reaching more than one million people in need.  The company has also helped its commercial and NGO humanitarian partners respond to more than 40 natural disasters and worked to help them prepare for future disasters. Agility employees continue to lead volunteer projects in their own communities, it stated. – TradeArabia News Service
