Nuberg wins $76m project in Abu Dhabi
ABU DHABI, March 29, 2016
India-based Nuberg, a global engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) company, has won a project worth $76 million to set up a 150 tonnes per day (tpd) chlor alkali/caustic chlorine plant in Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (Kizad), Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Nuberg secured the project from Emirates Chemical Factory (ECF) of Saif Al Khaili Group, a UAE-based conglomerate, said a statement from the company.
The project on completion will produce caustic soda and other chlorine derivatives such as chlorine, sodium hypochlorite and hydrochloric acid, it added.
The awarded project will use the highly sought-after modern bipolar membrane cell technology due to its sustainability, energy efficiency and environmental considerations, further added the statement.
Nuberg is the biggest EPC company in UAE for chlor alkali industry and has worked with companies like Al Ghaith Industries (Abu Dhabi), Union Chlorine (Abu Dhabi) and Gulf Chlorine (Qatar), among others, it said.
