Saudi-based Rezayat Protective Coating Company is set to showcase its innovative corrosion preventive rebar at the upcoming gulfBID 2016 expo in Bahrain.

The 10th annual expo for construction and building materials, gulfBID is being organised by Hilal Conferences and Exhibitions (HCE) from April 26 to 28 at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre, under the patronage of HRH Prince Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa, Prime Minister of Bahrain.

Rezayat is a major producer of fusion-bonded epoxy-coated rebar (FEBCR) which is widely utilised in the construction of buildings, highways, bridges, culverts and tunnels.

“We participated last year at gulfBID and received rave reviews, particularly for our product the FBECR. This product will take centre stage at our participation this year,” remarked Riyadh Al Homoud, the general manager of Rezayat Protective Coating.

“The epoxy powder film protects steel from corrosion by eliminating contact between steel and corrosion agents such as moisture, chloride and industrial chemicals,” stated Al Homoud.

A part of the Rezayat Group, the company boasts of a major production plant with a 100,000 tonnes per annum production capacity located at Dammam Second Industrial City.

Welcoming the Saudi group, Ahmed Suleiman, the exhibitions director of HCE, said: "Rezayat’s services and products are an integral part of Saudi Arabia’s highly acclaimed construction sector and the company is proving a global exporter of its expertise."

On its overseas deals, Rezayat said it had provided the FEBCR to the US Embassy in the Philippines, Qatar Embassy in Sudan, Port of Aden in Yemen, Kuwait University in Shuwaikh and Al Moayed Tower in Bahrain.

Its major clients in the kingdom include Saudi Aramco, Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (Sabic), Ma’aden Saline Water Conversion Corporation, Saudi Electric Company, Royal Commission, Sadara, Ministry of Transport Road Bridges, Ghazlan Power Plant, Yanbu Desalination.
