Siemens inks Iran railway infrastructure deal

TEHRAN, January 7, 2016

German industrial group Siemens has signed key agreements with Iran for development of the country's railway infrastructure, said a report.
 
As per the agreement, the global technology powerhouse will help Iran in the electrification project of Tehran-Mashhad railroad, besides the construction of Tehran-Isfahan high-speed railway and maintenance of 500 passenger cars, reported Trend Agency.

Under this deal, Siemens will also take steps to transfer technology to Iran though selected Iranian partners, it added.
