Ericsson opens distribution centre in Dubai

DUBAI, December 10, 2015

Ericsson, a leading provider of communication technology and services, has opened its first telecom equipment hardware and software distribution centre in Dubai, UAE.
 
Ericsson Supply Centre for Middle East region is the first distribution centre globally that will have a hardware assembly and a software load implemented at the same location, said officials of the company.

The ceremony was held in the presence of Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman, and chief executive Emirates Airline and Group Dubai Aviation City and Khalifa Al Zaffin, executive chairman, Dubai Aviation City Corporation.

The globally connected supply centre will bring the company’s global innovation closer to its customers in the region allowing them easy access to Ericsson’s latest innovation with timed delivery and high quality services, it added.

Ericsson said the supply centre concept will offer mobile operators higher return on investment (ROI) in shorter network roll out time and improved end customer satisfaction.

Rafiah Ibrahim, the president for Middle East and Africa (MEA), said: “We are committed to the development of the technology sector in the MEA, and we want to champion this region as leaders in the market.”
