Iran to export 400,000 tonnes of wheat
IRAN, October 26, 2015
Iran, the second-largest consumer of wheat in the Middle East region, plans to export 400,000 metric tonnes of the grain after domestic supplies expanded enough to meet local demand.
Iran purchased 8.08 million tonnes of wheat from local farmers this year, Ali Qanbari, deputy agriculture minister, was quoted as saying in the Iran Daily report.
He added that this year, despite a decrease in rain, an additional 1.4 tonnes of wheat was purchased compared to last year.
