Badard....RATP Dev's new Asia, Mideast director

RATP Dev appoints new director for Asia, ME

DUBAI, August 27, 2015

RATP Dev,  a subsidiary of French state-owned public transport operator RATP Group, has appointed Olivier Badard as its director of the Asia and Middle East business unit from September 1.

He will be based in Dubai and serve on the executive committee, while Cyril Carniel, who Badard succeeds, will continue to work with RATP Dev as a consultant, said a statement.

Badard comes with more 20 years experience in large French corporations, in the US and Gulf region, it said.

Françios-Xavier Perin, executive board chairman, said: “I am delighted that Olivier Badard has chosen to join our group. His experience in Asia and the Middle East will be particularly useful in our ambition to expand in these two regions."

In the Middle East, RATP Dev and local partner Saptco won a contract in November last year to implement, operate and maintain the first ever bus network in Riyadh, a large project that the Saudi authorities want to be seen as a benchmark worldwide.

RATP Dev also signed a partnership in June with Lakhraim Business Group to set up a joint venture targeting the leading transport projects in the UAE. - TradeArabia News Service
