ACC's new equipment ... to run on coal and alternative fuel

Arabian Cement commissions alternative fuel equipment

CAIRO, June 29, 2015

Arabian Cement Company (ACC) has commissioned the latest addition to the alternative fuel processing machinery at its plant in Suez Governorate in Egypt.

The equipment called ‘Hot Disc’ will allow ACC’s plant to rely completely on coal and alternative fuel to run its operations, said a statement.

Moreover, it will enable the plant to operate its kilns using alternative fuel materials directly without the need to pretreat them.

ACC now has designed a fuel mix of 70 per cent coal and 30 per cent alternative fuels.

The alternative fuel that will be used will be a mixture of agricultural wastes, municipal sludge, and RDF.

The use of alternative fuel is expected to result in reducing emissions by approximately 60,000 tonnes of CO2 per year on average. - TradeArabia News Service
