Shell honoured for backing UAE science fair

Leading multinational oil and gas company Royal Dutch Shell has won an award in recognition of its contributions towards the success of the Think Science Fair 2015.
Think Science is an annual event which allows UAE youth to develop their knowledge in the field of science and technology and helps them pursue their passion in investigating solutions that tackle real world problems, said a statement from Shell.
The event was held under the patronage of Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister and chairman of the Emirates Foundation.
Sheikh Abdullah presented the award to Andrew Vaughan, Shell Abu Dhabi’s vice president and chairman, at an official ceremony held in Abu Dhabi, UAE, recently, said the company statement.
Shell said it has been an active partner, playing an important role in supporting the Emirates Foundation’s initiatives to support the UAE towards fulfilling its vision 2021 towards a knowledge-based economy.
Shell and the Emirates Foundation are working together to share knowledge, expertise, models and networks to improve social impact as well as to help promote venture philanthropy for the youth of the UAE and the Middle East.
Vaughan said: “We are proud of this recognition, which supports Shell’s global values on innovation and technology.
