Reid ... to discuss the advantages of using CoMic technology

Lux Assure to unveil key anti-corrosion solutions

ABU DHABI, May 6, 2015

Lux Assure, a global market leader in oil and gas corrosion technologies, is set to showcase its innovative technologies at the inaugural Nace (National Association of Corrosion Engineers) UAE Corrosion Conference conference to be held from May 12 to 14 in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

The UK-based company is also a specialist in asset integrity management and developing novel chemical monitoring technologies for the oil and gas industry.

Lux Assure currently delivers two key technologies, CoMic and Ommica which together represent a revolution in monitoring and managing difficult-to-detect chemicals in hydrocarbons, condensates and water, specifically the thermodynamic hydrate inhibitors and corrosion inhibitors used to protect oilfield assets, on and offshore, said a company statement.

These technologies provide operators with unique solutions for monitoring difficult to detect chemicals which are widely used across the industry providing critical information to support key management decisions whilst delivering enhanced long term asset integrity management, it added.

With offices in Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Dubai, the company runs a network of worldwide agents.

Lux Assure’s product line manager, Melanie Reid, will discuss the advantages of using CoMic technology to determine the critical micelle concentration of corrosion inhibitors, as part of a proactive corrosion management programme.

Her presentation at the Abu Dhabi summit will focus on the company’s Middle Eastern work and incorporate regional case studies, highlighting the positive effect corrosion inhibitor monitoring is making in the field, said the company statement.

It will also touch upon the Goldilocks Principle; too much inhibitor is costly and may cause upset to the production system, whilst too little increases the risk of corrosive attack. The ‘just right’ amount is key, it added.

On its Nace participation, CEO Charles Cruickshank said: "The UAE has been a key target for us and since launching our new Dubai office at the end of 2014, Lux Assure’s Middle Eastern business has gone from strength to strength."

"We look forward to presenting at this new Nace event and collaborating with other industry professionals to identify solutions to help the fight against corrosion," he noted.-TradeArabia News Service
