Gulf Extrusions ‘twisted profile’ nominated for top award
ABU DHABI, October 9, 2014
Gulf Extrusions (Gulfex), a UAE-based global manufacturer of extruded aluminium products, has revealed that its ‘ twisted profile’ has been nominated as the ‘most innovative product of the year’ at a major aluminum industry trade show in Germany.
The twisted profile has also been selected to be displayed at the innovation area at the Aluminium 2014, the world's leading trade show for the industry, being held in Dusseldorf.
The three-day Aluminium 2014 will conclude today (October 9).
The ‘twisted profile’ was developed and customised for King Abdul Aziz International Airport project facade, the company said.
To make this kind of twist, the company developed a special machine to carry out the twisting of 60 degrees for a length of six metres. The machine was used and tested on various grades of alloys and tempers until coming up with a revolutionary 60 degree twist.
Modar Al Mekdad, general manager of Gulfex, said: “We are honoured to have our product displayed in the innovation area at such leading exhibition, which brings together producers, manufacturers, processors and suppliers and also end-consumers along the whole supply chain.
“Being at this year’s show has allowed us to leverage our pioneering range of products across the many projects in the region today. Rest assured, the company remains steadfast in its commitment towards expanding its reach - promoting its wide portfolio of products across untapped markets and addressing the demands of new industries.”
Aluminium 2014 provides a strategic overview of the entire aluminium industry and is an international meeting place for suppliers of raw material, semi-finished and finished products, surface treatment and producers of machinery, plant and equipment for aluminium processing and manufacturing.
This year's edition featured six themed pavilions - foundry, competence centre surface technology, primary, welding and joining, magnesium and recycling. - TradeArabia News Service
