4 UAE firms to showcase at Milipol Qatar
Dubai, June 5, 2014
Four UAE companies are set to showcase a wide range of projects and services ranging from IT security projects to surveillance technology at a major exhibition in Qatar in October.
The Milipol Qatar 2014, a leading trade exhibition dedicated to internal security will run from October 20 to 22 at the Doha Exhibition Centre and will showcase the latest innovations in equipment, technology solutions and innovations for professionals in internal security.
The event will also see exchange between industry professionals from around the world, especially the Middle east, the Near East and Asia.
According to a survey by trade publisher ‘En Toute Sécurité,’ the Middle East has become one of the world’s most dynamic security markets, having grown 12 per cent to reach 16 billion euros ($21.7 billion) in 2012, compared to an average of 5.5 per cent growth in overall spending worldwide.
The rapid economic developments leading to the creation of modern infrastructure and recurrent instability have called for major security projects, which are a feature of the region – protection of borders, oil fields and strategic buildings. These projects require innovative technological solutions.
The participants to the exhibition include operators from Europe and the US, while a strong GCC-based representation is also expected.
Muriel Kafantaris, exhibition director, said: “The challenges and requirements of the high-tech, modern world are rapidly changing, which means the demands on the security needs are evolving too. The new technologies that are required to keep pace with such demands in security will certainly be key issues under discussion. Moreover, as the region’s premier security event, the project and service index offered this year will be updated to better reflect current market trends.”
The Ministry of Interior, Qatar has invited senior officials from the ministries of interior and defence, as well as decision makers and professionals in the field of public and industry security to attend the exhibition.
The various departments of the Ministry of Interior will also be present with their own stands including the Police Force, Civil Defence, Internal Security Force (Lakhwiya), Coast Guard, Border Department, Customs and Ports General Authority, as well as the Qatar Armed Forces. - TradeArabia News Service
