Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) is all set to take part in a leading exhibition for aluminium products, technologies and investments in the region to be held in Dubai this May.

Held every two years, "Aluminium Dubai 2011" is the second edition of the event that was launched with great success in 2009 and is expected to emerge as one of the most eagerly-awaited industry events in the region.

Alba, in its leading position as a regional pioneer in aluminium production and keen supporter of the region’s plans to emerge as a major hub for the aluminium industry, will have a major presence at the expo, which runs from May 9 to 11 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

"Aluminium Dubai" will bring together representatives from industries as diverse as manufacturing and processing, building and construction, packaging, hardware, automotive and transport, power transmission, factory and machinery production and metal and commodity markets, said the organisers.

"For the past 40 years, Alba has maintained its position as one of the world's leading aluminium smelters, and is recognised worldwide for the quality of its products and services," said Alba chief executive Laurent Schmitt.

"We are proud to be in a region that is estimated to supply 14 per cent of the global demand for aluminium by 2020," Schmitt noted.
