GPIC expansion plans backed

Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC), a major fertiliser and petrochemicals company, discussed key issues at a meeting of the board of directors.

GPIC held its 146th ordinary meeting at the Ritz-Carlton Bahrain Hotel and Spa, under the chairmanship of adviser to the Premier on industrial and oil affairs Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa.

Shaikh Isa underlined the government's support for the company's future expansion plans.

The meeting expressed satisfaction with the company's financial situation during the first half of the year, as well as the production and export operations conducted through the company's complex.

The meeting agreed to form an audit committee chaired by National Oil and Gas Authority secretary general Dr Ahmed Ali Al Sharyan representing Bahrain, Saudi Basic Industries Company legal adviser Mohamed bin Ali Al Yamani representing Saudi Arabia and Kuwait Petroleum Industries Company deputy managing director for administration and finance Saad Mohammed Al Ajmi, representing Kuwait. – TradeArabia News Service
