The opening ceremony of National Aluminium Extrusion (Nalexco), located at Dubai investment Park, was attended by the vice chairman of Dubal Ahmed Humeid Al Tayer.
Nalexco is a 400,000 sq ft factory with a production capacity of 15,000 tonnes per year. It utilizes the latest aluminium extrusion technology with a focus on quality.
GGICO managing director Mohammed Abdalla Al Sari said the inauguration signifies the beginning of phase one for the Nalexco project.
“We are expecting an annual turnover of Dh200 – 220 million during this first phase, which we expect to jump to Dh330 million by the end of the second and final stage,” he said. “We are currently employing 150 staff, made up of Western and Arab experts, which will rise to 200 at the final phase.”
Nalexco’s third phase will see a third extrusion line installed, raising the factory’s capacity to 22,000 tpy, accompanied by a double vertical powder quoting line of 25,000 tpy capacity.
GGICO is also building another factory of a similar size in Jordan. The company is also studying market opportunities and requirements in the greater GCC area, particularly in Saudi Arabia and Qatar, Al Sari said. – TradeArabia News Service
