Apollo Hospitals Group, the largest healthcare provider in Afro-Asia, and RAK Hospital, a premium hospital in the UAE, have reached a clinical collaboration, a move that will pave way for UAE residents to get access to the super speciality medical team of Apollo without having to travel outside the country.

Currently Asia's largest healthcare group, Apollo boasts over 8,500 beds across 50 hospitals, 1,350 pharmacies, 100 primary care and diagnostic clinics, 100 telemedicine units across 9 countries, medical business process outsourcing services, health insurance services, global projects consultancy in addition to 15 colleges of nursing and hospital management.

Announcing the collaboration, Dr K Hariprasad, Group President of Apollo Hospitals, said: "We at Apollo Hospitals, with a track record of touching more than 150 million lives, have always believed that quality healthcare delivery is a shared responsibility, and we are happy to have RAK Hospital join us in this endeavour."

The post-pandemic period necessitates healthcare providers to collaborate across geographic borders, and such relationships are crucial in light of the escalating disease burden and changing noncommunicable disease scenario, he stated.

The partnership will cover training, telemedicine services, academics, and laboratory referral services, he added.

Dr Raza Siddiqui, Executive Director of RAK Hospital, said such global partnerships are vital for expanding clinical capacity, and RAK is delighted to have Apollo Hospitals as its clinical partner.

"The association will be immensely beneficial for patients who will now get access to the super speciality medical team of Apollo without having to travel outside UAE," he added.
