Zulekha opens new ‘lifestyle clinic’ in Sharjah
SHARJAH, September 11, 2017
Zulekha Healthcare Group, a leading healthcare provider in the UAE, has opened a new clinic at its Sharjah facility offering patient consultations, health reviews and assessments of diet, lifestyle and exercise.
The new ‘Lifestyle Clinic’ was inaugurated by Indian Ambassador to the UAE Navdeep Singh Suri.
The clinic has been opened in response to support everyday health challenges, such as quitting smoking and fatigue, as well as to combat the UAE’s continuing high obesity levels which are currently set at twice the global average.
According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), 70 percent of men and 67 percent of women aged 15 years old and above are considered overweight in the UAE. The group’s new initiative supports the government’s UAE Vision of achieving world-class healthcare by 2021.
The clinic, which will be open every day of the week for the community, will include a focus on dietetics, bariatrics, endocrinology and psychiatry. Patients will be offered consultations and advised where changes can be made to address individual issues, and ongoing support will be offered by specialists to achieve targets assigned for a healthy lifestyle.
Taher Shams, managing director at Zulekha Healthcare Group, said: “Lifestyle choices significantly impact how a person goes about life on a daily basis, and it is very easy to slip into bad choices when it comes to nutrition or exercise. Our new clinic’s purpose is to provide tailored consultation and education for people in the UAE so that they can begin, or continue, a healthy lifestyle journey resulting in a healthier and happier population.”
“Over the last five decades, Zulekha Healthcare Group has strived to support people across the region and we believe in taking preventive steps to safeguard our community. UAE residents tend to be fuelled by raw ambitions that allow them to reach beyond their limits. This can often see people’s health take a back seat, and we hope that the clinic will empower residents of the UAE to make health a priority,” he added.
The clinic is open to all patients who wish to make a lifestyle change and need support in doing so. The clinic is suitable for those who are concerned about diet, exercise, lifestyle choices, facing pressure or stress at work or at home, experiencing fatigue, or for smokers seeking support to quit. – TradeArabia News Service
