The Middle East’s first UFC Gym has been launched at Business Bay in Dubai, UAE. It is being promoted by Bay Square, a mixed-use project developed and managed by Dubai Properties.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Gym is a brand extension of the biggest global brand for mixed martial arts (MMA) combined with fitness. It spans more than 22,000 sqft of gym space and features the very first Octagon in the Middle East - UFC’s fighting cage, according to a press release.

The gym offers a full-range of functional fitness classes, group and private mixed martial arts (MMA) training, group fitness, personal and group dynamic performance-based training, and MMA youth programming that members of all fitness levels and ages can enjoy. 

Commenting on the launch, George Yiasemides, chief executive of UFC Gym said: “We have found the ideal location for our first Middle East based UFC GYM, at the heart of the most vibrant cities in the region, Dubai, at Bay Square in Business Bay. This gym is extensive and packed with exciting new fitness-related experiences. We have plans to further expand our presence in the region, as we strongly believe we have a huge fan-base looking forward to be coached by professional fighters.”

Mohammed Bin Essa, executive director of retail and commercial properties at Dubai Properties, expressed his pleasure that Bay Square will be home to one of the prominent gyms worldwide, with 117,000 members around the globe.

Members of the facility will experience UFC Gym Train Different approach using different training techniques inspired by UFC athletes. Membership includes unlimited access to UFC Octagon and signature classes such as Daily Ultimate Training (DUT), TRX, Muay Thai, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, kickboxing, boxing, mixed martial arts conditioning, women’s self-defence, as well as group fitness classes such as zumba, yoga, Cycle Circuit and more.

Since debuting in 2009, UFC Gym has opened more than 120 locations throughout the United States, Australia and Canada. The fitness franchise has continued to grow at a pace, opening more than 50 locations in the past two years and more than 100 clubs expected to open in the next year.

UFC Gym at Bay Square, is now operational, and enrolment programmes are open for public along with facility tours. – TradeArabia News Service
