Medicines watchdog to be set up in Bahrain

MANAMA, January 11, 2016

A committee has been set up to monitor applications for registration of medicines in Bahrain. The move follows directives by Supreme Council for Health chairman Lieutenant-General Dr Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa to regulate the registration of medicines and pharmaceutical products. It also aims to determine the scope of drugs which have no registered substitute in Bahrain and are used in emergency cases, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.
