Teresa Bagaman with the award

Filipino medical group honoured in UAE

DUBAI, UAE, December 21, 2015

The Philippines-based The Medical City (TMC) has been honoured at the International Benchmarking Conference, held recently in Dubai.

The group, which boasts the largest healthcare network in the Philippines, won the Global Benchmarking Award, edging out companies from the UAE, Singapore and India.

The healthcare provider has recently opened its first polyclinic in Dubai in partnership with Kuwait’s Sama Medical Services, with plans to expand its network across the GCC.

Commenting on the prize, CEO of TMC Dubai, Rebecca Desiderio, said: “It is an honour to win the Global Benchmarking Award in Dubai as it reconfirms our vision of offering world-class services to our patients and clients, both locally and internationally. It also reaffirms that our practices and policies match those of international levels.”

Teresa Bagaman, head of network quality management, remarked that TMC continuously submits to the rigorous review and accreditation process of bodies that set global benchmarks like the Joint Commission International (JCI) in order to ensure it provides the best standard of healthcare.

She added that TMC is the first Filipino hospital to be certified by the JCI for its heart attack programme. -TradeArabia News Service
