A surge in premature births has led to calls for a
dedicated paediatric hospital in the kingdom

Premature births double in Bahrain

MANAMA, November 20, 2015

Premature births have more than doubled in Bahrain in the last six years, prompting calls to establish a dedicated public paediatric hospital. Latest statistics show that the number of births at less than 37 weeks jumped from four per cent in 2008 to 10 per cent last year, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.
