Bahrain declared free of listeria infection

MANAMA, April 26, 2015

Bahrain has been declared free of Blue Bell ice creams infected with harmful listeria monocytogenes, a report said.

“Food control inspectors have made sure such infected products are not available in the Bahraini market,” the Health Ministry was quoted as saying by the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.

Blue Bell Creameries has recalled its entire product line following the infection.

Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams has also recalled all of its products and is closing its stores because of a possible listeria outbreak.

The World Health Oganisation’s International Food Safety Authorities Network issued a circular last Friday listing the markets which imported the infected products and warning against consuming them. – TradeArabia News Service
