BDF Hospital gets $769,331 boost

Manama, June 3, 2009

The BDF Hospital's Royal Medical Services has received a cash injection of BD290,000 ($769,331) to upgrade its information technology infrastructure.

Improving patient safety and reducing medical errors will be the main benefits of the donation from the National Bank of Bahrain (NBB), said officials.

They said the funds would also ensure an effective hospital service.

'We are humbled by the magnanimous gesture from the NBB,' said Brigadier Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa of Bahrain Royal Medical Services.

NBB chief executive officer Abdulrazak Abdulla Hassan Al Qassim said the donation was part of the bank's aim to serve the community.

NBB customer services executive general manager Abdulla Hussain presented the donation to Shaikh Khalid during a meeting at the BDF hospital yesterday.

Present were NBB Business Banking Group deputy general manager Abdulrahman Abdulla Mohammed, Corporate Services Group executive assistant general manager Khaild Ali Juma, customer services executive general manager Abdulla Hussain and Royal Medical Services representatives.-TradeArabia News Service
