Pharmacy action plan ready

Gulf Pharmacists Forum’s (GPF) board has set a comprehensive action plan for June 2007 to August 2008.
The GPF is a non-governmental, non-profit organisation focusing on promoting professional and educational development.
The GPF board members also approved the constitution at the first general board meeting, which took place under the patronage of UAE Minister of Health, Humaid Al Qutami recently, said a top official.
Dr Easa Al Mansoori, Director of Drug Control Department, Ministry of Health and GPF Chairman said the two of the priorities under the 2007-08 action plan are the launch of a GPF educational website and newsletter specifically targeting pharmacists.
The Website and newsletter will include all details of the GPF’s constitution, monthly plans, updates, and contact information, so that all pharmacists throughout the gulf can have access to and follow its progress on a routine basis, he added.
The board also made some new appointments. Layla Abdel Rahman, Member of Pharmacist Syndicate in Bahrain was unanimously elected as the forum vice-chairman, while Nadia Al Mazroui, chief of logistics, Director of Medical Services, General Head Quarters Armed Services in Abu Dhabi was named the GPF secretary general of the GPF.
Furthermore, two committees were formed, the Scientific Committee headed by Layla Abdel Rahman and an administrative committee headed by Ghaya Al Saad, Member of Pharmacist Syndicate, Kuwait.
“The outcomes and rules established at the meeting are very much in line with the objectives set out earlier, in terms of promoting awareness, professional development and initiating training amongst pharmacists throughout the GCC,” said Nadia Al Mazroui. TradeArabia News Service
