Abu Dhabi completes $111m new school projects

ABU DHABI, September 23, 2018

Abu Dhabi General Services Company (Musanada) has announced that it has completed construction of three new schools for the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (Adek).

The schools include the C2 and C3 Shakbout School, as part of Phase 6, Package 1; Delma School, as part of Phase 6, package 14 and Al Rayana School as part of Phase 6, Package 13 of Abu Dhabi Future Schools Programme (ADFSP), said a statement from Musanada.

Built at a cost of Dh407 million ($111 million), these institutions will provide 187 classrooms and accommodate 4,985 male and female students, it stated.

Ali Al Haj Al Mehairib, the executive director of Building Construction Project Management Division at Musanada, said: "The three schools have been completed, as per the approved schedule, as Musanada is keen to contribute to the achievement of the Abu Dhabi Plan, enhancing and developing the competencies of future generations and motivating them to adopt insights that help them foresee the future challenges at both the individual and community levels."

"The construction has been in line with best international practices, whether in terms of the design of classrooms and multi-purpose halls, or in creating the appropriate and attractive educational environment, which is aligned to the needs of future generations," he added.

Al Mehairbi pointed out that each of these schools has attained the 2-pearl sustainability rating, as stipulated by the Department of Urban Planning and Municipalities.

"This rating is awarded to buildings that increase the efficiency of energy usage. Additionally, all materials, equipment and plants used in the construction have complied with the latest sustainability specifications," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
