DUBAI, July 9, 2015
Dubai-based Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU) will award 20 scholarships to outstanding high school learners as grants from Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and president of HBMSU.
Bestowed for the third year in a row, the scholarships aim to help learners in their quest towards scientific and academic excellence and enable them to contribute effectively to the UAE’s overall development, said a statement from the university.
The Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Scholarship Programme provides dedicated learners the opportunity to enroll at the university’s e-School of Business and Quality Management and e-School of Health and Environmental Studies.
The awardees will be selected based on the set criteria, which includes academic excellence, final grades and compliance with the admission requirements of the academic programmes, it stated.
The scholarship programme will accept applications immediately after the release of the 2014-2015 high school grade results.
Lauding the initiative, Lieutenant general Dahi Khalfan Tamim, deputy chairman of Dubai Police and General Security and chairman of HBMSU board of governors, said these grants are the cornerstone of the recipients’ academic and professional excellence.
The move falls in line with the strategic objectives of UAE Vision 2021 aimed at equipping the new generation with the necessary knowledge and innovative skills to create a highly competitive and sustainable economy, he added. – TradeArabia News Service
