AMMAN, March 30, 2015
The Association of Queen Rania Al Abdullah Award for Excellence in Education (QRAEE) in Jordan has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Arab Open University to further foster cooperation in the field of education.
The MoU, signed by QRAEE executive director Lubna Touqan and president of the Arab Open University Dr Mohammad Abu Qudais, aims to build a genuine partnership and open new horizons for the development of the educational sector in Jordan based on the positive role the educator plays in preparing bright and inquisitive generations.
According to the agreement, the Arab Open University will be able to utilise QRAEE’s information database for research and development purposes. Additionally, QRAEE will provide the university with the criteria for the teachers, principals and school councillors’ awards in order to integrate them within its curricula. Moreover, QRAEE will hold lectures for the university's students majoring in education to better acquaint them with the concept of excellence in their profession.
Also stipulated in the agreement, the Arab Open University will provide English courses and training to the award winners. Moreover, the winners will be able to enrol in a number of the university's programmes and will have the opportunity to take part in the conferences and workshops. They will also have access to the university's website and the books uploaded on it.
"The QRAEE continuously seeks opportunities to spread the culture of excellence, through building strategic partnerships with different entities and institutions in the field of education, and through expanding the platform through which we share the success stories of our winners," Touqan said
"We are proud of our new partnership with a distinguished educational institution like the Arab Open University. This partnership will help support our distinguished educators to continue developing professionally. It will also help instil the culture of excellence among future educators; university students majoring in education," she said. - TradeArabia News Service
