Hellofood offers scholarship

Leading global online food delivery marketplace ‘hellofood’ has launched a scholarship scheme to cultivate the spirit of leadership and entrepreneurship among Jordan’s university students.

The hellofood Excellence Scholarship scheme will award one university student JD500 ( $706.61 ) as recognition for entrepreneurial talent and leadership ability based on a submitted essay outlining and innovatively solving a community problem, said a statement.

The scholarship programme will accept entries up to September 30, 2014, with candidates asked to submit a brief essay that identifies a specific problem in Jordan’s community, and offers a viable solution. Marks will also be awarded for awareness of hellofood’s business model and the consumer need it addresses.

Beschir Hussain, CEO of hellofood Middle East, said: “hellofood aims to encourage the spirit of enterprise and leadership at grassroots level. We believe it creates socio-economic opportunities and improves prosperity for the community as a whole. The Excellence Scholarship is our way of demonstrating our commitment to enterprise and innovation, and our belief in the potential of Jordan’s university student community. We encourage everyone to get involved, and submit innovative ideas that address specific concerns.”
