Manama, April 11, 2012
Bahrain’s Riffa Views International School has been named the first Smart Showcase School in the kingdom by Smart Technologies, a leading provider of collaboration solutions.
The K–8 school was chosen because of its commitment to providing students with 21st century learning, through the adoption and integration of Smart products, a statement said.
Riffa Views International School has installed Smart Board interactive whiteboards and Smart projectors in each of its 42 classrooms.
Every teacher uses award-winning Smart Notebook collaborative learning software. Classrooms are also equipped with Smart Sync classroom management software, helping teachers make the most of class time and encouraging student engagement.
Under the control of the teacher, Smart Sync allows students to display their computer work on the interactive whiteboard, making an easy transition from personal learning to whole class participation.
“Our goal is to equip our students with the tools necessary to succeed in an increasingly technologically driven society,” said Dr Bernadette Carmody, Riffa Views International School.
“As the first Smart Showcase School in Bahrain, we are pleased to be at the forefront of setting exceptional education standards by offering our students the chance to excel through technology-based learning opportunities.”
Aaron Fright, area manager, Middle East, Smart Technologies, said: “Riffa Views International School educators have demonstrated their commitment to helping students perform better through adopting Smart products and making the curriculum more engaging, interactive and appealing for their students.”
“We are very pleased to acknowledge Riffa Views International School as a trailblazer amongst the educational institutions in Bahrain and our first Smart Showcase School in the country,” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
