Tamkeen, Bahrain’s labour fund, is set to name Elham Hassan, a member of its board of directors, its new chief executive officer on the retirement of present incumbent Abdulelah Al Qassimi next month.

The appointment of Hassan, who represents Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) on the board, is in line with Bahrain’s policy of empowering women by giving them leadership roles, said a report in our sister publication, the Gulf Daily News.

The other BCCI representatives on the board, Sharif Ahmedi and Adel Mattar, had already quit the board after failing to run for the last BCCI elections, the report added. – TradeArabia News Service
