UK varsity to back Ghedex
Muscat, April 1, 2010
UK-based University of Wales Institute (UWIC), Cardiff, will be participating as silver sponsor in an upcoming international higher education exhibition in Oman.
Ghedex will be held from April 20 to 22 at the Oman International Exhibition Centre in Muscat.
“The UWIC International Office has attended every Ghedex event and also visits Oman on a regular basis with an aim to maintain and develop a wide range of friendships,” said John Philips, UWIC’s dean of international affairs.
“At the moment, UWIC has over seventy Omani students, who have excelled in subjects such as tourism, biomedical science, business information systems, human resources management and business administration,” he added.
“The university has an Omani society which arranges support and social activities for Omani students. The university has regarded the Omani students as highly motivated, well-educated, well-prepared and popular with their tutors.”
“The UWIC International Office uses as always the Ghedex event to keep in touch with former students in addition to making new contacts and giving advice and information to new prospective students,” Philips concluded. – TradeArabia News Service
