Bahrain-Thai trade soars 79pc in 2010

The volume of trade between Bahrain and Thailand soared by 79 per cent last year, said senior government officials.

'These key figures reflect steadily growing co-operation between both countries,' HRH Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa said. He was speaking as he met new Thai Premier Yingluck Shinawatra and congratulated her on her election.

He wished her success in achieving Thai people's aspirations of further progress and development.

The two leaders discussed bilateral relations and steadily-growing co-operation, in addition to regional and international developments. He reiterated Bahrain's keenness to consolidate co-operation and building on achievements of past years.

He invited Shinawatra to visit Bahrain.

Welcoming HRH the Premier's visit, Ms Shinawatra praised his crucial role in promoting Bahraini-Thai co-operation. She also hosted a lunch banquet in honour of HRH the Premier. – TradeArabia News Service
