China State Construction (CSCEC), a global investment and engineering group, has announced it has achieved a significant milestone on the Dubai Exhibition Centre Expansion project with the successful hoisting of the first steel structure on site.
The scope of work for CSCEC includes the design, manufacturing and installation of steel structure at the Dubai Exhibition Centre.
The project, located in Expo City Dubai, encompasses a total construction area of 77,000 sq m. Once completed, the facility will be capable of hosting 20 events of varying scales simultaneously, with a daily capacity to accommodate 50,000 visitors, said the company in a statement.
The new sections of the centre are located on the north and south sides of the existing exhibition halls, with both sides consisting of exhibition halls, connecting corridors, and backstage facilities.
The main structure features a long-span truss design, with the largest truss spanning 120 m and weighing 137.5 tonnes, posing significant installation challenges, it stated.
All structural fabrication and installation standards adhere strictly to British standards, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
