Oman's Haya Water has started construction work at its Bausher 1 wastewater and treated water networks project being built at a cost of RO7 million ($18.15 million), said a report.

On completion, the networks will connect around 12,199 plots, residential, commercial and governmental institutions. Furthermore, the length of treated water networks is 134 km, reported Times of Oman.

Ghantoot Transport and General Construction Company is the main contractor for the project, it stated.

Bausher 1 is one of the most important projects in the wilayat due to high-rise development buildings which the wilayat has witnessed during the last decades, said the report citing a top official.

"The project will consist of sewage networks with a total length of 23 km. The purpose of the project is to facilitate collection of sewer flows from the existing and proposed buildings of the area and to consolidate the collected sewer flows to Al Ansab Sewage Treatment Plant safely and in environmental friendly manner," remarked Engineer Khalid bin Hasan Al Lawati, the projects acting general manager.

Through this project, the company will connect 527 plots, including residential, commercial and governmental entities, he stated.

It will also connect the new Oman Mall and Al Sadeeq Al Ameen Mosque, he added.
