MILAN (Italy), December 10, 2018

Raimondi Cranes, a 150-year-old Italian manufacturer of cranes, has appointed South African group ZLT Tower Cranes Private Limited (ZLT Cranes) as its new agent for Africa region covering eight countries from its base in Midrand, part of the Johannesburg municipality.

Effective immediately, ZLT Cranes will act as the sole Raimondi dealer across South Africa, Botswana, Zambia, Namibia, Mauritius, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, presenting the manufacturer’s luffing and topless tower cranes as well as its crane accessories.

A heritage company based in Milan, Italy, Raimondi Cranes SpA was acquired by KBW Investments in January 2014.

Raimondi Cranes is the proud manufacturer of quality topless and luffing cranes, and boasts a valued global network of partners dedicated to continuing the company’s presence at construction jobsites worldwide.

On the new appointment, Mauro Masetti, the chief commercial officer, Raimondi Cranes, said: "ZLT Cranes is dynamic company with considerable market knowledge. This is paired with experience in selling lifting products to a wide range of clients for a variety of purposes, from residential developments to infrastructure projects to the mining industry."

"Our initial discussions quickly indicated that the company’s on-the-ground experience together with a demonstrated history of success in the regional construction sector would prove valuable as a partnership," he stated.

"We are proud to inaugurate our agency appointment with our first sale of a Raimondi MRT159 topless tower crane to one of South Africa’s most notable gold producers," stated Rob Cook, the director of the ZLT Tower Cranes.

"Harmony Gold will be utilizing the MRT159 at the Great Noligwa Gold Mine at Vaal Reef, situated in the northwestern region of South Africa," stated Cook, who jointly founded the company with Mark Bates.

"Since 2006, I have been involved in the sale of over 290 mobile and crawler cranes in South Africa and other African countries. Based on my years in the regional marketplace, I anticipate that Raimondi will be very warmly welcomed due the quality and durability of its machinery range," he added.

ZLT Cranes, part of a collective of companies that draws on more than 35 years of experience in the heavy machinery segment and various other construction sectors including mining, will also be providing after sales care and service and maintenance programmes.-TradeArabia News Service
