Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme partners with EIPA

ABU DHABI, April 25, 2018

UAE-based Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme has signed a MoU with the Emirates Intellectual Property Association (EIPA) to boost its cooperation and creating a prosperous strategic partnership in various areas, through implementing a joint working framework, coordinating with relevant authorities, and benefiting from their joint expertise, as well as exchanging studies, to enhance their organisational work and achieve their joint strategic goals.

The MoU was signed by Jamila Mohammed Al Fandi, the director-general of the Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme, and Major General Dr Abdul Quddus Abdul Razzaq Al Obaidly, the assistant general commander for Excellence and Entrepreneurship at EIPA, at the programme’s headquarters in Dubai, in the presence of several officials from both sides, reported state news agency Wam.

Al Fandi said the agreement was part of the programme’s efforts to achieve the directives of the wise leadership to promote the concept of intellectual property, present innovative government services and achieve their strategic goals.

The MoU will also help to promote and develop joint cooperation and exchange knowledge and information on intellectual property, as well as introduce relevant legal programmes and awareness programmes.

Al Obaidly said the deal was based on their belief in the necessity of protecting intellectual property rights, which has become a vital tool in driving economic growth and social prosperity and strategically employing intellectual property rights, to serve the national efforts and foresee the future of the coming generations.

The MoU also aims to provide the programme with the best applications and practices related to intellectual property and develop relevant legal systems and awareness programmes, as well as to exchange related knowledge, through organising workshops and lectures that aim to raise awareness about intellectual property rights for the programme’s employees, he added.
