Gulf Markets International unveils key services at GIF

MANAMA, February 8, 2018

Veteran service provider Gulf Markets International (GMI) unveiled its diverse portfolio of services at the Gulf Industry Fair 2018 held in Bahrain.

Established in the seventies and built on the concept of bringing the world’s finest products and services to the market, the Bahrain-based company is promoting the various international brands represented by its six main divisions: building materials, lifts and escalators, medical equipment, agricultural supplies, industrial supplies, and sponsorships.

Commenting on its participation, company spokesperson Twinkle Tan said GMI is promoting the services of all its divisions and looking to create greater awareness of the diversity of its services.

Among the latest products added to its building materials portfolio is the Saudi-based Al Kuhaimi Metal Industries, a new agency GMI acquired two months ago, he stated.

Al Kuhaimi Metal Industries has managed to secure a number of key deals in Bahrain, said Shafeek AK, the building materials division (BMD) manager. Its fire-rated doors – offering 60, 90 and 150 minutes of fire protection - have gained popularity in the market, he added.

GMI is currently supplying 44 substation doors to the Ministry of Electricity and Water, and 900 fire-rated doors to TAV, the contractor working on the Bahrain International Airport project. Other major orders have come for the cardiac centre in Awali (curtain-walling) and Amazon warehouse in Zallaq (roller shutters).

The building materials division has also added its own-brand plywood procured from China to its portfolio. Other products recently added to the BMD’s portfolio include waterproofing membranes from the Modern Group of Egypt.

Meanwhile, its popular Conmix brand of exterior finishing plasters continues to enjoy success in the market, offering an aesthetic and highly durable finish to landmark buildings.

Other products offered include waterproofing, epoxy floor coating, special screeds and spray machines for premixed cement plaster (currently being used on the Bahrain International Airport project).
In the spotlight at the GMI stand is a full-scale Pearl elevator, among the latest products from Orana, a
Spanish manufacturer represented by GMI’s lifts division.  Other brands represented by the division include Kohler from Germany, Hidral service lifts and SKG dumbwaiters.

“Kohler lifts will be installed in Bahrain for the first time at the 33-storey Amfa 3 tower being built in Seef,” said a lifts division spokesman.

GMI undertakes supply, installation, commissioning and maintenance of the lifts it installs.

The sponsorship division, meanwhile, assists foreign firms who wish to start new ventures in Bahrain. Among the company it has supported are GCP Applied Technologies, Azizent and Acreaty.-TradeArabia News Service
