Sodic signs contract with Cairo Water Company

CAIRO, December 4, 2017

Sodic, one of the region’s leading real estate development companies, has signed a contract with Greater Cairo Water Company to connect 1,000 houses to the fresh water network in Ezzbet Khair Allah.

The signing comes following a protocol agreement that is already in place between Sodic, Holding Company for Water and Wastewater, Cairo Governorate, the GIZ and under the auspices of The Egyptian Ministry of Housing, Utilities and Urban Development.

The project is planned to be carried out over one year and is fully funded by Sodic at an estimated cost of E£1 million ($56,516).  

The signing ceremony took place at the premises of the Holding Company for Water and Wastewater and in the presence of Magued Sherif, Sodic’s managing director, Mostafa El Shimi, the managing director of Holding Company for Water and Wastewater and chairman Mamdouh Raslan.

The scope of work includes connecting the chosen homes to the fresh water and wastewater networks in place in Ezbet Khairallah, installation of a fire fighting network, provision of vocational training on construction besides setting up of water and wastewater connections.

The project will also see employment of youth in the collection of water tariffs and create water consumption awareness programs in the schools of Ezbet Khairallah.

"At Sodic, our CSR initiatives focusing on education and rehabilitation, impact the lives of over 7,000 families every year," stated Magued Sherif, the managing director of Sodic.

"The first phase of the fresh water project in Ezzbet Khair Allah will benefit more than 1,000 families," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
