Abu Dhabi carrying out $75m infrastructure work

ABU DHABI, September 12, 2017

Abu Dhabi government is carrying out Dh277-million ($75.4 million) internal road and infrastructure projects at Shakhbut city in the emirate.

The work is being jointly implemented by the Department of Municipal Affairs and Transport (DMAT) - Abu Dhabi City Municipality and Abu Dhabi Public Services Company (Musanada) and is due for completion in the first quarter of 2019, said the state news agency Wam.

Musanada said the implementation of the strategic transport projects, which contribute to realising the objectives of Abu Dhabi Plan, was one of its priorities.

These projects will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of infrastructure and supporting the economic development of the emirate and also the UAE, stated the report.

Work is progressing well on its ongoing projects including extension of communications and sanitation networks, as well as water and electricity lines to 423 land plots, it added.
