Abu Dhabi building material prices up in November

The prices of various construction materials used in the construction industry across Abu Dhabi, UAE, have registered a sharp increase in November compared to the same period last year led by iron and bricks, said a report.
There was a jump in the cost of labour, iron and diesel fuel in November, even as prices for other vital materials fell, stated the Emirati news agency Wam, citing the data from Statistics Centre - Abu Dhabi (SCAD)statistic centre, Abu Dhabi (SCAD).
The UAE capital witnessed a 7.6 per cent increase in the cost of iron besides a 4.5 per cent jump in the labour prices, while the diesel fuel costs soared 8.5 per cent in November, stated the Scad special report detailing prices of construction materials in Abu Dhabi, along with an analysis of changes in prices in November.
Amidst all this, the average price of UPVC piping fell by 1.2 per cent, and wood by one per cent in November 2016, compared to the previous month.
Further, prices of bricks increased by 13.8 per cent and glass fell 9.2 per cent, compared to last year, the report added.
