Dubai Chamber workshop provides legal tips on real estate

DUBAI, August 17, 2016

Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry provided practical tips to real estate property ownership as well as sale and purchase agreements during a workshop held yesterday (August 16).

The workshop titled “Key Legal Aspects of Real Estate", held in association with BSA Ahmed Bin Hazeem & Associates, focussed on property ownership by GCC nationals and foreigners.

It was attended by chamber members, business representatives, lawyers and legal consultants, investors, real estate developers, brokers and contract administrators. It discussed topics of understanding the types of property ownership, implications of purchasing property in the UAE and of signing a sale and purchase agreement.

Conducted by John Peacock, senior associate, commercial, corporate and M&A, and real estate, BSA Ahmad Bin Hezeem & Associates, the workshop highlighted the legal issues surrounding real estate ownership and transfer as well as structuring real estate ownership in the UAE.

Jehad Kazim, director, legal services, Dubai Chamber, informed that in today’s regulated real estate market where changes occur at a high pace and new laws are continuously being introduced, it is the duty of property buyers and sellers to know their rights and be informed and seek the right advice.

She further added that in the real estate market it is essential for investors to know and understand the mechanisms available for investment by utilising the best options available to secure their investment without incurring unnecessary legal complications.

Dr Ahmad Bin Hezeem, senior partner, BSA Ahmad Bin Hezeem & Associates, said: ‘‘We are delighted to continue our cooperation with Dubai Chamber. The interactive real estate workshop delivered by John Peacock was fruitful as it addressed an important topic; the real estate ownership, an area that is continuously evolving globally and at national level, and it is a key practice area for us. We look forward to a continued mutual partnership with the Dubai Chamber for the sake of 2020 Dubai vision.’’

Dubai Chamber regularly organises trainings, seminars and workshops to apprise the business community with the various trade legislations, laws and rights as part of its efforts to serve the business community which ultimately go on to boost their trade and contribute to the economic growth of Dubai. - TradeArabia News Service
