Dubai South awards infrastructure contract

DUBAI, July 31, 2016

Master developer Dubai South has awarded a contract worth Dh300 million ($81.65 million) for infrastructure works at its flagship Residential District in Dubai South, Dubai, UAE.

Central to the contract, which was awarded to Tristar Engineering and Construction, is the delivery of the completed infrastructure works of Phase One and Two of the Residential District by Q4, 2017.

The contract was signed at a ceremony at the Dubai South headquarters today. Present on the occasion were Khalifa Al Zaffin, executive chairman of Dubai Aviation City Corporation; Ahmed Al Ansari, acting chief executive officer, Dubai South; Naji Hasan Al Harthi, chairman, Tristar; and Sabah Khattar, executive manager, Tristar.

Al Zaffin said: “The award of this contract is a huge step forward for Dubai South’s Residential District and we are delighted to be working with Tristar. As a government entity, Dubai South only works with the best-in-class companies to deliver the highest standards of competency to our customers. This award goes a long way in boosting the confidence of our stakeholders and will ensure a strong pipeline of launches and deliveries into the real estate market, beginning this September at Cityscape.”

The scope of the work spans 2.2 sq km and covers complete community infrastructure work, including roads and potable water, sewerage, storm water drainage, combined irrigation and firefighting, district cooling networks; electrical and telecommunication works, road lighting, gas network and spare ducts.

Mobilisation will begin immediately, with work due for completion by the end of 2017, the statement said. - TradeArabia News Service
