Naseej awards Bahrain waterfront project contract

Bahraini real estate developer Naseej has awarded a design consultancy contract to SSH, a leading masterplanning, infrastructure, building design and project management firm, for its multimillion-dollar CanalView project coming up at Dilmunia off Muharraq island in the kingdom.
Also Naseej signed up DG Jones & Partners as the quantity surveying cost consultants for the ambitious project, said a statement from the company.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Naseej’s managing director Mohammed Alsayed said these deal closures represented substantial steps towards the successful delivery of the CanalView project to the Bahraini marketplace as well as adding yet another iconic real estate landmark to the kingdom.
Alsayed along with general manager Ahmed Al Hammadi joined Andrew Barwick, SSH’s resident director (Bahrain and East Saudi Arabia) and Christian Boujaoude, DG Jones and Partners (ME) general manager Bahrain, at the ceremony held at Naseej’s headquarters.
On the project, Al Hammadi said: "Valued at BD24 million ($63.56 million), The CanalView project is located in Dilmunia Health Island in Muharraq and will be developed on an area of 13,068 sq m. This mixed-use development features a main podium with a number of multi-storey buildings, with 250 residential apartments on offer, retail spaces, restaurants and cafes, shops and service outlets, all of which will be built overlooking the canal basin and feature waterfall, offering spectacular views of the coast surrounded by green spaces and landscaped gardens."
Al Hammadi said the project’s site within the Island of Dilmunia offers an excellent location where integrated projects come together, thereby offering a destination for those seeking luxury and excellence in real estate projects adding that the units will be offered for freehold purchase.
On the contract win, Barwick said: "SSH’s extensive experience in waterfront architectural design in the Bahrain, where we are successfully involved a number of major projects, combined with excellent client engagement have been the differentiators that helped secure this major contract."

Boujaoude said it partnership with Naseej has been an extremely important deal for the group this year and is also one of the most exciting new projects to be developed in Bahrain.
