Rezayat’s coated rebar star attraction

MANAMA, April 27, 2016

Saudi Arabia's Rezayat Protective Coating Company is showcasing its innovative corrosion preventive rebar at gulfBID.

Rezayat’s fusion-bonded epoxy-coated rebar (FBECR) is widely used in the construction of buildings, highways, bridges, culverts and tunnels.

“We participated last year at gulfBID and received rave reviews, particularly for our FBECR, which once again takes the centrestage at our participation this year,” remarked general manager Riyadh Al Homoud.

Rezayat has a major plant in Dammam with a capacity of 100,000 tonnes per annum. It is an approved supplier to several large companies in Saudi Arabia and its coated rebar has been used widely throughout the kingdom and overseas on several major industrial and commercial projects.

Major clients in the kingdom include Saudi Aramco, Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (Sabic), Ma’aden, the Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SCC), Saudi Electric Company (SEC), the Royal Commission, Sadara, the Ministry of Transport, the Ghazlan power plant, and the Yanbu desalination plant.

Overseas, Rezayat has provided the FBECR to the US Embassy in the Philippines, the Qatar Embassy in Sudan, the Port of Aden in Yemen, Kuwait University in Shuwaikh, Kuwait, and the Almoayed Tower in Bahrain.

Elaborating on the advantages of FBECR, Al Homoud said: “The best advantage of coated epoxy powder film is that it eliminates contact between the steel bars and corrosive agents such as moisture, chloride and industrial chemicals, which will protect the steel from corrosion and extend the life time of structures.”

“We have the facility to fabricate coated steel bar in accordance to the original structural drawings,” he said, adding that the coatings are applied to ASTM standards.-TradeArabia News Service
