Danube showcases ‘green products’ at Dubai WoodShow
DUBAI, April 5, 2016
Danube Building Materials, a part of Danube Group, is showcasing its 'green products' portfolio at the ongoing 11th edition of Dubai WoodShow, which concludes tomorrow (April 6) at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
Green buildings aim to reduce the negative impacts of buildings on human health and the environment through better site selection, construction, design, maintenance, and removal throughout the complete life cycle of the green building material, said a statement from the company.
Danube has received FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) and PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) forest management certification schemes and it carries a complete range of certified building materials in stock. Furthermore, the products contain no added urea-formaldehyde.
Eco-friendly solutions not only save money but also contribute to realising the vision of leaders who endorse sustainability.
Similarly, to ensure sustainability, Danube enables easy and single-point sourcing of all kinds of green products for projects aspiring to get Leed (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification or Estidama Pearl Rating.
Sustainable forests are the result of a commonsense policy to replace trees that are felled so that forests continue to exist, providing natural materials. Over the years, Danube has been ensuring that the timber and other such products come from sustainable forests, the statement added.
Rizwan Sajan, founder and chairman, said: “If we make right investments in energy, transportation and green buildings, the cities of the future could look very different than the cities of today. Our communities could be cleaner and more sustainable. Our quality of life could be better. Homes and buildings will operate as living organisms, monitoring performance and adapting to our needs in real time, saving us energy and money. As we are aware that wood is the oldest material used by humans for constructional purposes, after stone.
"Despite its complex chemical nature, wood has excellent properties which lend themselves to use. Perhaps one of the biggest advantages of using wood as a building material is that it is a natural resource. So we need to source sustainable wood, make products which have no added urea-formaldehyde and embrace the opportunity to live more sustainably."
Danube product portfolio includes wood, MDF (medium density fibreboard), plywood, exotic timber, veneer, laminate, sanitary ware, hardware, steel, cladding, ceramic, wall panels, glass, acrylic, flooring, paints, shower panels, sauna rooms, mixers, table tops and bases, boards, parquet flooring, ceilings, shower rooms, aluminium products, vanity, tiles, and electrical and fire solutions. - TradeArabia News Service
