Dewa awards $35m water network contract

DUBAI, January 20, 2016

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) has awarded a contract to extend its water network, at a cost of Dh130 million ($35.38 million), to meet the increasing need for water and building infrastructure.

These projects include the 600 to 1,200 mm diameter extension of GRE (glass-reinforced epoxy) main water pipelines, using the non-destructive road crossing (NDRC) tunnel-digging method to protect the infrastructure and services for major water transmission networks located around the emirate, said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, managing director and CEO of Dewa.

The project is expected to be completed within 30 months of its start date. - TradeArabia News Service
