DI to showcase coloured solar panel technology

DUBAI, January 17, 2016

Dubai Investments (DI), a leading, diversified investment company, is showcasing the world’s first coloured solar panel technology by Emirates Insolaire, a DI joint venture with SwissINSO Holding, at the World Future Energy Summit (WFES) 2016 starting in Abu Dhabi tomorrow.

At the exhibition, Emirates Insolaire is presenting its unique, coloured and sustainable solar panels, photovoltaic modules as well as solar thermal collectors which not only enhance the design appeal and aesthetics of building façades but also offer cost-effective and sustainable, never-seen-before customization, said the company.

The company, which installed the world’s first Kromatix coloured solar PV modules in Switzerland and Austria last year, is witnessing surging interest for its solar panels amidst rising demand and awareness towards a more sustainable future.

Going by initial analysis, Emirates Insolaire is expecting sales of 50,000 sq m of solar panels and 10,000 pieces of coloured photovoltaic modules during 2016, it said.

Rafic Hanbali, managing partner of Emirates Insolaire, said: “In line with the green initiatives undertaken by the UAE government to diversify energy sources, we are proud to showcase our breakthrough technology at WFES. Emirates Insolaire has brought in a new paradigm shift in solar technology with the Kromatix technology. The World Future Energy Summit is a great platform to unveil our expertise to partners from across the globe.

“The solar PV industry is booming with the market growing 40 per cent year-on-year and Emirates Insolaire’s end-market demand is hitting rapid growth levels almost every quarter,” he added.

The solar panels from Emirates Insolaire offer high efficiency, with each PV module capable of generating 170 to 190 watts per sq m for roof or 110 to 130 watts per sq m for facades, it said.

The company continues to receive enquiries for its coloured solar panels from the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Egypt, Bahrain, Lebanon, as well as from Europe, Asia, the US, and Brazil, among others. Emirates Insolaire, part of Glass LLC – the glass pioneers in the Middle East, manufactures its coloured solar glass panels at the Emirates Glass manufacturing facility in Dubai.

The WFES, which is being held as part of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, will be held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (Adnec) from January 18 to 21, 2016. It is expected to bring together over 650 exhibitors from 40 countries and 30,000 attendees from 170 countries. - TradeArabia News Service
