Saudi firm launches new workers' accommodation

RIYADH, December 29, 2015

Anan Iskan, a leading workers accommodation expert in Saudi Arabia, has launched its Ras Al Khair residential compound mainly designed for senior company officials and managerial employees.

A major player in the kingdom's labour accommodation sector, Anan Iskan said the move comes as part of its efforts to address challenges faced by the labour force in Saudi Arabia.

The compound is a portable cabin development with a capacity of 656 residential units on a 75,000-sq-m area in Ras Al Khair, a port city currently under development on the eastern coast of Saudi Arabia 60 km north of Jubail.

The new city, known under its project name of "Minerals Industrial City" at Ras Al Khair, is being set up to tap into the immense mineral deposits of phosphate and bauxite found within this Saudi region.

With a standard of 27 sq m of personal space, certified rooms of workers are air-conditioned and adequately ventilated, said a statement from Anan Iskan.

Workers also have access to telecommunications, internet, money transfer and postal facilities besides hitech laundry services and staff for maintenance and cleaning of the units, it stated.

Anan Iskan has also made sure that the workers get the best food and the apt facilities for recreational activities.

Workers can also relax using other facilities like multiple open playgrounds, gyms and entertainment lounges and a swimming pool.

Anan Iskan takes pride in supplying residents with round-the-clock services, seven days a week, such as housekeeping twice a week and laundry as well as grocery stores, pharmacies, first-aid response unit and barbershops, said its top official.

"World-class standards for workers’ accommodation have been implemented in all our projects, for both white and blue collar employees," said Anan Iskan CEO Faisal A  Alsayegh.

"We are committed to taking this responsibility off our clients’ shoulders, allowing them to focus on their core business. Anan Iskan is committed to ensuring that its projects create lasting value for employers and workers, which is both a humane and a wise investment," he added.

According to him, Anan offers a primary first aid response unit. "This includes first aid services, bedding for in-house patients, quarantine for infectious diseases, and an accessible healthcare professional, guaranteeing immediate response to any emergency at any time of the day," he added.

Certified by the Ministry of Health, a general practitioner for each camp of workers is on duty from 9 am to 5 pm, and on call 24 hours seven days a week, said a statement from the company.

On the security front, Alsayegh said the workers’ camps are equipped with closed-circuit televisions (CCTVs), biometric access control systems, and two-way radios or walkie-talkies.

Also security personnel trained by the Interior Ministry and working under a system directly linked with the General Directorate of Civil Defense will deployed at these camps.-TradeArabia News Service
