Capital Gate named 'Best Commercial High-rise Development'
ABU DHABI, December 14, 2015
Capital Gate, the iconic tower that dominates the skyline at Abu Dhabi’s premier event venue Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (Adnec), has scooped a win at the Grand Final of the International Property Awards 2015.
The landmark building was named the 'Best Commercial High-rise Development in the Arab Region' at a ceremony held recently at Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square in London.
Recognised by the Guinness Book of Records as the farthest leaning manmade building in the world, the Capital Gate project was honoured for its innovative architecture and sustainable and eco-friendly design, said a statement.
At an incline of 18 degrees, Capital Gate leans four times more than the celebrated Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy and embodies the level of development and progress achieved by the UAE capital, it said.
Open to residential and commercial properties and professionals from around the world, the International Property Awards acknowledge the highest levels of achievement by companies operating in all sectors of the property and real estate industry.
Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, acting group chief executive officer at Adnec, said: “Adnec won the industry’s highest accolade after competing against the best architectural marvels from across the region. The recognition validates our longstanding commitment to providing state-of-the-art facilities that exceed the expectations of our clientele.
"It will inspire us to raise the levels of innovation and service excellence throughout our venues, ensuring the continued success of events and elevating the emirate’s stature as the most preferred event venue in the region.”
The International Property Awards witnessed the submission of more than 2,000 entries from over 100 different countries across the entire gamut of property-specific disciplines - including 490 entries in architecture category from 75 countries.
The judging was carried out through a meticulous process involving a panel of over 70 experts focusing on design, innovation, and originality. - TradeArabia News Service
