Eagle Hills’ starts work on $3bn Belgrade project

ABU DHABI, October 4, 2015

Eagle Hills, a UAE-based private investment and real estate development company, and Belgrade Waterfront Capital Investment, have jointly announced the start of its $3-billion flagship development Belgrade Waterfront, a master-planned community situated along the Sava River in Belgrade, Serbia.

One of the most anticipated projects in the country, Belgrade Waterfront is being developed by Eagle Hills, with the support of the Serbian Government.

A major designer of mixed-use facilities based in Abu Dhabi, Eagle Hills focuses on developing new city hubs in high-growth international markets. It is currently developing projects in Bahrain, Jordan, Morocco, Serbia and Nigeria.

A ground-breaking ceremony of its first residential building, BW Residences, was held in the presence of Prime Minister of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić, Mayor of Belgrade Siniša Mali and Eagle Hills board member Mohamed Alabbar.

Centrally situated on this vibrant promenade overlooking the Sava River, ‘BW Residences’ will offer a range of well-appointed one to four-bedroom apartments and feature a design that draws on the architectural heritage of Belgrade.

Units are packaged with an abundance of leisure amenities, retail and dining options that celebrate a European, urban lifestyle. The sales of ‘BW Residences’ began on Saturday (October 3).

Out of a total construction area of 2 million sq m, the project will have a total gross site area of one million sq m. The spectacular new city hub along River Sava is one of a number of UAE investment projects in Serbia and shows the strength of the partnership between the two countries.

Speaking at the ground breaking ceremony, Vučić said: “This innovative project is the first step in defining our vision for the future and defining Serbia’s path towards progress and development, becoming a modern-day country. It will not only revitalize Belgrade, but also help our city take its place as an attractive investment destination and put it on the map as one of the leading regional cities.”

The ground breaking ceremony also marked the completion and inauguration of the waterfront promenade’s first phase of redevelopment, featuring river decks, a kids’ play area, food trucks and animated by a full programme of activities.-TradeArabia News Service
